About Us:

Who We Are:

I am Chris (the guy on the left). I have been teaching for 17 years and teaching  ESL and EFL for over 14 years. I have a B.Sc. for Simon Fraser University and a Masters of International Studies from Yonsei University in Korea. I publish an ESL teaching website called Boggle's World.

I am Sunmi (the girl on the right). I have a B.Ed in Korean language and literature education. I have been teaching for 10 years.

We met in Korea in 1995 and have been married since 1999. We moved back to Canada in March of 2003 with our two kids Jeremy and Erin.

Our Philosophy

We take a holistic approach to teaching: language learning is just one of our goals, and not even the most important (though our homestay and summer camp kids have stellar improvement in that area!).

We are more concerned with raising healthy, emotionally balanced, and responsible kids who are aware of other people and their environment. As such, we foster values of cooperation and respect for others as well as independence. We are not a hotel. We expect a lot from the kids who stay here, but in return we give a lot in terms of individual attention.

We believe that experience is a better educator than book learning. We go out into nature and observe and discuss what we see. We believe that language learning can be accomplished more effectively in the long run through play and meaningful communication. That is why we emphasize the adventure activities that we do.

We give the kids who stay with us experiences and memories that they will cherish forever.
